Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday March 2nd, 2015
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:01 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President: Dave Gilmour

Reminder: A quick reminder that there is a prize at the end of the year for everyone that has attended a meeting, served on the exec or a committee. You get one entry for every meeting attended, committee served on or exec position. They go into a hat at the end of the year and a name is drawn.
Minutes:
Dave: Everybody should have had a chance to read last meetings minutes. Are there any errors or omissions?

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Show Committee
- Mary: 2015 National is to be held with Kilbride & District Kennel Club - Sunday, August 9 2015 in Caledonia, ON – application has been sent to CKC -Have not heard from Royal Canin yet
- Paul W: Who is the judge for the 2015 specialty?
- Mary: It's in previous minutes - will have to look
- Judge for National: Ricardo Torres Simoes has been an All Breed judge for 35 years, licensed by the FCI and AKC. He was President of Santos Kennel Club, President of Boxer Club Paulista (two different periods), President of Brazil Boxer Club, and former member of The Judges Department of Brazil Kennel Club. Since 1971 Mr. Simoes lived in London, England for about 12 years and had intense contact with European breeders and judged many times in several countries. Moving to Miami, Florida in 1991 where he lived for many years, he applied and became a registered judge (#7273) for the AKC, for Boxers and other Working Group breeds. In the past years Ricardo has judged Specialties and Championship Shows in the United States and Canada, in Mexico and in many Latin American countries and in Europe as well as in some Asian countries

- Anne: I need to know my budget for trophies
- Dave: The budget is 600
- Anne: Will need a prepaid Visa or something.
- Anne: do you want me to do the judges gift too
- Dave: Yes that would be great
- Anne: ok, then maybe ad an extra $50.00 to the budget
Membership:
- Dave: I would like to introduce Doris Avery as our new membership Chair
- Jenny: thanks Doris for volunteering
- Doris: Very welcome! Happy to help.
- Dave: I don't think there is anything to report for now am I correct Dori
- Doris: No not yet. Have to get updated on everything still
Discipline Committee:
- Jenny: Discipline report - no cases therefore no report
Obedience Committee: Marta Nettelfield -- No Report
Fund Raising Committee: -
Dave: At this point we don't have a fundraising chair. If someone would like to take up the challenge please notify the executive
Awards Committee: Kristi Wagg – No Report Not in attendance
Nomination Committee
- Jenny: We have had responses from some of the Reg Directors still need to hear from the rest.
- Nominations must be received to either myself or Christine PRIOR to March 31.
- Nominations for the executive positions of president and corresponding secretary must be received by myself or Christine prior to march 31.
- Reminder if you are nominating someone they must have a nomination with a seconder. Also we will contact the person nominated to confirm that they are willing stand/run.

- Christine: Both Dave and Cindy have agreed to allow their names to stand for President and Recording Secretary.
Special Service Committee: Deb Allardyce – No report - Not in attendance

- Cindy: Nothing to report.

Old Business:

- Lee & Mary Jane: I am pretty sure Mary Curl has the correct one

- Paul W.: What was the final count on non returning members?
- Dave: I think it was either 6 or 8 Paul
- I think with the one month extension we were able to get about 60-70% of the late members to renew
Dave: Over the weekend we made the draw for the attendance/activity raffle. The criteria was a person received a entry for every meeting attended as well if they either chaired or served on a committee as well as each executive position got one entry. The winner was Lillian Wainwright.
- KC O`Brien: I just want to say that's a GREAT idea!! About the attendance raffle! :)
- Dave: We will be working on the black boxer statement. Did anyone have any comments on what we had posted
- Dave: IMPORTANT -Any members who wish to apply for a Regional Specialty in 2015 and want sponsorship from Royal Canin need to get their applications in to Cindy ASAP. Royal Canin now has a policy that sponsorship from National Clubs must be submitted online soon
- Dave: Have been in contact with Lillian as she can't get on and said there have been several items posted on the site for people to check out and she has nothing for Good and Welfare
New Business:
- Bernice: I have a question or suggestion, BCC is sitting with a bank balance of $11,000 , You will not spend this money on any Natl show which is in Caledonia this year. It should be invested in bank term deposit or something along that line.
- Dave: This is something the executive has already been talking about
- Dave: I would like to acknowledge Mary on her landmark achievement of 50yrs of membership with the CKC.

- Reminder that the Nickel District KC all breed show closes March 14th...March 27-29 in Coniston, ON. Second item--Northern Ontario Boxer Club Specialty is on April 26, 2015 in Lindsay, ON at Victoria County. Judge is Ann Felske-Jackman and Sweepstakes Judge is Laura King. Closes April 8, 2015.
